How Municipal Warrants Work
Humboldt County's official court map lists no separate municipal court. Check the Nevada Judiciary directory and the county's own Union Justice Court page. Both send Winnemucca Police citations to Union Township Justice Court. That one court handles traffic, misdemeanor, and preliminary felony matters, and it states plainly that it issues arrest and search warrants. A city ticket can still grow into trouble. Miss a court date and you may face a failure to appear entry, a collections hold, a license problem, or a bench warrant. The phrase "city warrant" only tells you where the citation started, not that a separate city database exists. Confirm the actual record with the court the county names.
Humboldt County Has No Separate Municipal Court
The Nevada Judiciary municipal-court directory shows no municipal court for Humboldt County. That surprises people. The state's judicial directory lists Union Justice Court, and the county's own page names Winnemucca Police among the agencies whose citations it handles. Humboldt County funnels city tickets through one justice court, not a city bench.
No city portal: Winnemucca posts no warrant lookup of its own. Check a city citation through Union Justice Court, with the police department as the contact for the citation itself.
A missing municipal listing doesn't erase a city citation. It simply tells you which Humboldt County court to call about it.
Municipal Courts Across Humboldt County
Humboldt County's court map shows one lower court, Union Justice Court, and one incorporated city, Winnemucca. The state's judicial directory backs that single routing.
| City or agency | Court route | Warrant-related question | Phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winnemucca Police Department | Union Township Justice Court | City citation, traffic, misdemeanor, or FTA | WPD 775-623-6396; Court 775-623-6377 |
| Other named citation agencies | Union Township Justice Court when listed by the county | Check the citation and issuing court | Use the court directory |
McDermitt, Orovada, Paradise Valley, Golconda, and Denio sit in Humboldt County as communities, not city court systems. None is an incorporated city with its own court. Each falls under the county's single justice-court setup.
Winnemucca Citations Reach Union Court
Humboldt County's Justice Court page names its citation sources directly: Winnemucca Police Department, HCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Nevada Department of Wildlife, and Animal Control. So the path is simple. A ticket from WPD or any listed agency lands at Union Justice Court. Court staff then control the hearing, the payment, any FTA entry, and the warrant record. That is where your questions go. What about the police side? The official Winnemucca Police page is the city contact source. The department posts no online warrant lookup. No active list, warrant phone line, or public form appears there either. That silence doesn't mean it has no internal process. Keep the two offices distinct: police confirm the citation, Union Court answers for the record.
Humboldt County Municipal Warrant Checks
Start with your citation number and court date. Then call Union Justice Court. Use 775-623-6377 for traffic or civil questions and 775-623-6059 for criminal matters. Ask whether an FTA, collections entry, bench warrant, or DMV issue exists. Humboldt County's court pages post no public name search or warrant table, so the call itself is the warrant check.
- Read the court and date printed on the Winnemucca citation.
- Call the Union traffic/civil clerk if it is a traffic case.
- Call the criminal division for an FTA or bench-warrant question.
- Use the Nevada Traffic Citation selector only for an eligible payment or dispute task.
- Ask the clerk how a recall or clearance will be confirmed.
HCSO is the service and dispatch arm for Humboldt County, not the issuing clerk behind each city citation.
Nevada Judiciary Directory Check
The state's municipal-court directory saves you a wrong turn. It lists municipal courts across Nevada with no separate Humboldt entry. The Nevada Judicial Directory identifies Union Justice Court as Humboldt County's court. That document maps every court in the state, county by county. Treat it as the map, not the answer. It won't tell you the status of one citation. For that, call Union Justice Court with your number ready. The directory settles structure; the court settles your case.

The county Form Center is a directory of forms, not a municipal warrant search.
Municipal Warrants: What They Show
No public city listing exists, so the best tool is a list of questions for the clerk. Ask about each piece in turn. A Humboldt County citation record may show the issuing agency, citation number, court date, charge, plea or payment, an FTA entry, and later court action. A bench warrant or arrest warrant in Nevada may carry different required fields.
| Issuing agency | Winnemucca Police or another agency named on the citation. |
|---|---|
| Court | Union Township Justice Court for the identified city citation route. |
| Citation or case number | The support identifier to give the clerk or payment provider. |
| Status | Ask whether it is a payment, collections, FTA, bench warrant, or other status. |
| Clearance | Ask how recall or court action will be entered and confirmed. |
Humboldt County publishes no sample case-number format, so rely on the number on your own citation rather than a pattern from another court.
Humboldt County City Citation Routing
The local chain is short. Winnemucca Police issues or records the city citation, Union Justice Court handles the court obligation, HCSO may serve a court order, and detention holds custody. A case that turns into a felony after preliminary review can move up to Sixth District Court. The right Humboldt County office depends on the case stage.
| Stage | Office | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| City citation | Winnemucca Police and Union Court | Which court date and case status apply? |
| FTA or bench warrant | Union Criminal Division | What recall or appearance is required? |
| Service or custody | HCSO or Detention | What operational information can be released? |
| Post-bind-over felony | Sixth District Court | Which district clerk holds the file? |
City police and county court roles are linked but not interchangeable.
Clearing a Humboldt County Municipal Warrant
Call Union Justice Court before you show up at the courthouse or detention center. Ask what the court wants: payment, a reset, a continuance, an attorney, a recall filing, or an appearance. Humboldt County publishes no city surrender window, bond list, or ID rule. The clerk's answer governs.
The Union fee order lists a $100 recall fee for a bench warrant with or without appearance, subject to waiver language. Ask whether it applies to the case.
If an arrest happens, the Humboldt County notice says cash bail must be posted or the person stays in custody for judicial action. The regular fee schedule lists a $50 filing and processing fee for a bail or property bond. Ask the clerk for the exact amount. Get payment instructions from the court too.
Humboldt County Recall Fee Applies Lower Court
Humboldt County's Union Court sets a $100 fee to recall a bench warrant. A $10 charge applies when a payment plan is set or reset. The Blackjack-fees order spells out both amounts. It also lists grounds for waiving them. Two things the order does not do: it does not turn a city citation into its own municipal-court case, and it does not promise an administrative recall without a judge deciding. For sheriff matters, the HCSO fees page shows what the office charges for documents and how it takes payment. Those are service fees, not a warrant-bail rule, so keep them apart from recall and bond questions.

The fee page is useful for distinguishing sheriff charges from Justice Court warrant steps.
